Juniors – Doug Kneebone Event at Darebin

13 Children represented the GV DEVILS on Sunday 23 Feb at Darebin Bowls Club

Cameron Kennan joined us at the last minute after Bailey Leask pulled out due to personal reasons.

The prestigious Doug Kneebone event was a singles and pairs format this year something different to other years.

What a day – hitting the road at 545am with car loads of kids was certainly a challenge.

All the kids started with singles and what a great effort by them all – some wins and some losses they all displayed great sportsmanship and respect for each other.

After a fire evacuation after 3 singles games the kids were keen to keep bowling and started their pairs before lunch.

The remaining pairs didn’t disappoint – the kids were awesome and the energy was high after playing 2 games x 7 ends singles and 3 games X 10 ends pairs over 150 bowls for the day.

The biggest day in bowls for some of them.

After all was tallied it came down to announcing the winners – with much excitement Josh Cartwright and Cameron Keenan -Rochester were announced winners of the day.

Thanks to the GVBD for supporting the day – and to all that helped on the day.
